    Wow, I like the mayor’s aide….see if she’s single will you? How much Spanish have you picked up? Have you studied and thought of taking Spanish classes? I have a whole box full of books,tapes,and other materials I have accumulated over my years of trying to learn the language…..until I finally realized that being largely deaf, and someone who can just get by in English….there was realistically no chance to learn a new language! So I have a bunch of material if you want to use it just let me know….I have thought of tossing it before…but just couldn’t bring myself to throw it away! You might want to watch for me on that cable TV program about hoarders….I might just be a candidate for a future episode? Lol

      Actually, the Thanksgiving invite was from the owner of the Sandbar where Walkaholics have lunch on Wed. My painting was done for Legends, another bar opened by Kristi on the north end. Like I say, there are more bars than mosquitos in San Pedro Town and there are plenty of mosquitos there. It was a generous invite from Brittany, the owner of the Sandbar made to several of us on a Wed lunch.

    yea, I thought I was going to see you in shorts/hat flip flops. Kind of a cameo appearance. Only the people who knew you would notice. I do appreciate the map. It gives a nice overview of the area. Maybe, they could chum the water for divers, and have swim with the diver tours.

    Lol, wow you have hooked me with this post! You know how I love palms and palm trees! As you know I keep many varieties of palms here at home and in my courtyard when weather permits? The most hardy needle palms, Chinese windmill palms, Mexican fan palms a Pindo palm,et. al., ….all are among my menagerie here in the Panhandle of Texas! Lol

Is Belize a possible for when the great collapse happens?     I find monkeys to be quite appealing, especially when dealing with free bananas administered by cute little girls. The same was true in Panama – the highlight of the boat tour of the Canal was the visit with a little troop of monkeys who boarded the boat, pirate style, and demanded not our wallets but our food.

      The ruins are only partially excavated. They were covered with dirt and forest growth and archeologists brought them to life. they are stones like the Eqyptian pyramids but a different size and different markings.

    150.00 us first off sounds pretty pricy to me…..but I admit everything out there in the world seems pricy to me….and unlike our parents I wasn’t raised or experienced a depression…..not yet anyway! I hope that i never will ….yet fear that it is not very far off! Lol. Liked your Mazatlan reference. …we had a good time down there for a week last winter didn’t we? Might consider trying something like that again? I remember if you sat in just the right deck chair overlooking the pool you could get good Internet access! Lol only in Mexico! BTW, are you going to take advantage of the 36.00 bz Thanksgiving buffet?

    Oh good…u r posting again! Lol you seem to post in spurts, but I am not complainin’…..I just got a weather alert that a big cold freezing storm is on its way and should hit here Thanksgiving day! Wish I was someplace warmer, but it’s not going to happen just yet! Hard to tell about the age of your bathing beauties in your pic…..most of the people in your pics seem much older than us….but doesn’t everybody? Lol. And I don’t know if I could frequent a place in tropical Belize that has fake…metal… palm trees? Something is very wrong there!

    Love the shots … they’re really getting me into that “third-world feeling” we look for when we travel. I saw the “Havana Cigars” store photo. These, like the Cuban cigars sold in Mexico, the Dominican Republic and elsewhere in the Caribbean are almost certainly counterfeit and not even good cigars. Virtually all of the Cuban cigars are controlled by a Cuban government owned company (S.A. Habanos) and are sold as luxury items. I doubt the Belize store is one of their customers.     Got a kick out of your comments on the two most popular pastimes down there on the island because it reminded me of an older lady I met who owned a house in San Carlos Mexico…who reportedly told a friend of mine that she loved San Carlos because she could drink all she wanted and her kids couldn’t do anything about it! She also smoked like a chimney as I recall. …but she lived out her years enjoying herself and I guess I thought more power to her! Life is full of personal choices and consequences and if that was her choice….go for it! Lol

    When we went there, we were on the mainland for a short while. I think our cruise ship stopped there. We took a cab inland too see a zoo of all things. Sounds like it might be similar. If I remember, prostitution is legal there, which no doubt compounds the aids problem.

      Cruise ships go into Belize City and passengers take small boats to the docks for day trips. Ambergris Caye and San Pedro Town are to the north and east of Belize city – either a twenty minute plane flight or an hour and a half water taxi.
